How it works
Step 1
Write the quiz
Multiple choice, multi-select and true/false questions, with points, an optional timer and an explanation shown after the reveal. Import from a CSV if you already have a bank.
Step 2
Launch a session
Instructor-paced when you want to run the room question by question. Self-paced when students should work through it alone, with feedback after each question or only at the end.
Step 3
Put it in your slides
Paste the embed into a Genially slide, or project the join page with its big QR code next to PowerPoint. Students join with a nickname. No accounts, no app to install.
Step 4
See who understood what
Your control panel shows who has answered and whether they were right while the class is still in the room. Results and a CSV export are there afterwards.
Built for the moment the class is still in the room
Most quiz tools are built around a scoreboard. This one is built around the thirty seconds after a question closes, when you can see that half the room picked the same wrong option and change what you say next. The leaderboard is there if you want it, and off by default.
- Per-question timer with a server-side cutoff, so late answers do not count.

Frequently asked questions
- Do students need an account?
- No. Students open the join link or scan the QR code, type a nickname and start. An optional session passcode keeps outsiders out.
- Does it work inside Genially?
- Yes. Each session gives you an embed snippet that drops into a Genially slide as an iframe. Students answer inside the slide, and if the slide reloads they rejoin automatically.
- What about PowerPoint or Keynote?
- Those decks cannot embed a live web page, so you project the session’s join page with its large QR code on a second screen or in a slide, and run the quiz from your control panel.
- What is the difference between instructor-paced and self-paced?
- Instructor-paced means you activate each question, lock it, and reveal the answer when you choose, which suits discussion. Self-paced means each student works through the quiz alone, with feedback either immediately or only at the end.
